Share a document without uploading it.

This service does not hold any documents. It keeps a short list of who is sharing a folder right now, and carries a read from one SAG computer to another while they are. Stop sharing and there is nothing left behind, because nothing was ever copied here.

How it fits together

Each person keeps a SAG-Online folder beside their private SAG folder. The private one is indexed for them alone and is never offered to anybody. Only what goes in SAG-Online can be reached, and only while that person has sharing switched on.

Reading is all anybody can do. The listener on the far end answers GET and HEAD and has no route that writes, and this service forwards nothing else — so no one can change anyone else's folder.

To start sharing

  1. Open the SAG app, so Document Control makes your SAG-Online folder.
  2. Put what you want to hand over in Projects or Employees.
  3. Double-click Share documents.cmd and leave the window open.

Colleagues then see your folder in Document Control → SAG-Online. Closing the window switches it off immediately.
